It is time again for my weekly NFL picks, as well as my winners in games involving state of Florida college teams.

A 4-3 tally last week took my season numbers to 11-4 against the spread, 12-3 overall.

Remember, I select the games based on the national telecasts, the Dolphins’ game, and at least one of the doubleheader games on Sunday.

These selections are for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.  Don’t forget that wagering is illegal at Bushwood, sir.

Here are my SUPER SEVEN picks this week in the NFL:

(HOME TEAM IN CAPS):

My picks are highlighted.

Thursday

FALCONS -6 over Buccaneers

The Bucs are pathetic on offense, and their defense has left a lot to be desired so far this season.  This is a BAD matchup for Tampa Bay.

Sunday

Kansas City +4½ over DOLPHINS

I am not saying the Fins can’t win this week, but I just would not take them giving 4 ½ points to the Chiefs.  KC can run the ball very effectively and Miami is going to need to show me that they can stop the run.  I hope that the Dolphins prove me wrong.

Texans +2 over GIANTS

The Giants have shown absolutely nothing the first two weeks of the season.  The Texans, admittedly playing against a couple of weak teams, are 2-0.  I look for that trend to continue against another weak sister opponent.  My biggest concern is that the Vegas oddsmakers have the Giants as favorites.

SAINTS -9 ½ over Vikings

Saints are 0-2, both losses coming on the road.  The Saints are a very different team at home, and Drew Brees is going to light up the field this week.  They couldn’t possibly go to 0-3, right?

Chargers +3 over BILLS

A lot of folks are thinking that the Bills are for real.  They’re good, but not great.  No way Buffalo goes to 3-0.  The Chargers are coming off a great win over the Seahawks last week, and this could be a week to let their guard down a bit, but I don’t see it happening.  San Diego’s offense can score on anyone, even with RB Ryan Matthews out.

PANTHERS -3 over Steelers

The Panthers continue to play well on both sides of the ball, while the Steelers laid an egg last week against the troubled Ravens.  Pittsburgh has won the last three times they have played the Panthers.  That streak ends this week.

Monday Night

Bears +3 over JETS

My original thought would have been to go with the Jets, who are favored at home.  However, after seeing the Bears against the Giants on the road last week, I’m picking them against the Jets this week.  This is not a given, however.  The Jets can play defense and they can run the ball, which is the Bears’ achilles heel.  Will ride Da’ Bears bandwagon this week.

Here are this week’s college games involving Florida teams:

My picks are highlighted.

Florida @ ALABAMA                    3:30 pm         CBS

Florida is good, but Alabama is better.

Louisville @ FIU                         3:30 pm         Fox Sports 1

Louisville is favored by 27 points.  FIU is FIU.

Florida Atlantic @ WYOMING      4:00 pm

Good win last week for the Owls.  They could surprise on the road.

Bethune Cookman @ UCF           6:00 pm         ESPN 3

Bethune is 2-0, UCF is 0-2.

Clemson @ Florida State            8:00 pm         ABC

FSU has the talent.  They are almost unbeatable at home.  Clemson is a pretty good team.  This may be closer than what people would think.

Miami @ Nebraska                     8:00 pm         ESPN 2

Miami hasn’t overwhelmed me so far this season.  Are they going to be able to kick it up a notch on the road against a good Nebraska team?  I hope the Canes prove me wrong.

I told you this past Tuesday that this would be a difficult week for the state of Florida teams.  That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
