CC Sabathia goes on the disabled list with a strained leg muscle - will probably miss two starts.  

Talking about pitchers, a few are rumored to be possibly going somewhere before the trade deadline . . . Matt Garza and/or Ryan Dempster of the Cubs, Zack Grienke of the Milwaukee Brewers, Wandy Rodriguez of the Astros, and Francisco Liriano of the Minnesota Twins.  Now that Kevin Youkilis changed stocking colors from Red to White, the most popular names among position players that will need change of address cards are Chase Headley and Carlos Quentin of the SD Padres, and Josh Willingham and Denard Span of the Minnesota Twins.  The Braves are going to be possibly looking at some OF help, as well as adding a starting pitcher and some bullpen bodies. 

Numbskull of the day goes to Aroldis Chapman of the Reds.  After doing his job and closing out a game, Aroldis decided to do a couple of somersaults.  Aroldis:  ACT LIKE YOU’VE SAVED A GAME BEFORE!   

What is it about June and the Marlins?  You just know that Ozzie Guillen is about to go postal on his team.  Just goes to show you that teams are not as good as they look during a good streak, and they aren’t as bad as they look during bad times.  Just an observation, but if Fredi Gonzalez or Edwin Rodriguez were managing the ball club right now, wouldn’t people be looking for their heads?

Happy birthday to my Godson Danny Murillo, and to Derek Jeter, who turned 38 yesterday.  

Tomorrow is the NBA Draft.  University of Kentucky Power Forward/Center Anthony Davis will be the number one pick by the New Orleans Hornets.  That is a given.  The Heat pick 27th, and their comments seem to indicate that they would  love to see 7’0 center Fab Melo from Syracuse fall to them.  I don’t think it will happen.  The Heat guard their true intentions like nuclear secrets, so we’ll have to wait.  They will end up selecting whoever they think will best complement LeBron James.  Names to keep your eyes on:  shooting guards John Jenkins from Vanderbilt, Doron Lamb from Kentucky, and Jared Cunningham from Oregon State.

CC Sabathia cayo en la lista de los lesionados hoy con una lesion en la pierna.  Se espera que solamente falle un par de turnos regulares en la rotacion.

Que es lo que tienen los Marliins con el mes de junio?  En cualquier momento, Oswaldo Guillen se va a explotar con sus jugadores.  Los equipos no son tan buenos como cuando estan en una buena racha, y no son tan malos como cuando caen en una mala racha.  Una pequeña observacion - - - si Fredi Gonzalez o Edwin Rodriguez fueran el manager en este momento, la gente no estuvieran pidiendole la cabeza?  

Felicidades en su dia de cumpleaños a mi ahijado Danny Murillo y a Derek Jeter, que celebro su cumpleaños ayer.  Nadie le ha dicho a Jeter que ya tiene 38 años de edad?

Mañana es el draft amateur de la NBA.  Los New Orleans Hornets tienen la primera seleccion del draft, y no hay duda de que van a seleccionar a Anthony Davis de la universidad de Kentucky.  Los Miami Heat tienen la seleccion numero  27 en el primer round, y estan indicando que quisieran que el center de siete pies de estatura, Fab Melo de la universidad de Syracuse estuviera disponible, aunque no creo que pase.  Acuerdense que Miami guarda sus intenciones como si fueran secretos nucleares, asi que vamos a tener que esperar.  Mi opinion es que van a buscar al jugador que mejor pueda complementar a LeBron James.  Nombres para vigilar:   los armadores John Jenkins de Vanderbilt, Doron Lamb de Kentucky, y Jared Cunningham de Oregon State, todos francos tiradores de afuera.
