The Marlins host the San Francisco Giants in a three-game series this weekend.  The scheduled pitchers for the series with the Giants:

TONIGHT Chad Gaudin vs Nathan Eovaldi 7:10 pm
SATURDAY Matt Cain vs Henderson Alvarez 7:10 pm
SUNDAY Madison Bumgarner vs Tom Koehler 1:10 pm

The Fish will host the LA Dodgers in a four-game series starting on Monday, and then the Colorado Rockies will be in Miami for a three-game set next weekend.  

The Fish are still at the bottom of the list in runs scored in MLB, with 376 runs in their 119 games, an underwhelming 3.16 runs per game.  Here are the rest of the bottom-dwellers:

Cardinals 6 Pirates 5 (12 innings)
Matt Holliday ended the game with a run-scoring single in the 12th.  The Cardinals are now just two games behind the Pirates in the NL Central.

Pinch-hitter Hector Sanchez hit a three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning.

Reds 2 Brewers 1
Joey Votto’s home run in the sixth inning was the difference.  Aroldis Chapman nailed down his 30th save of the season.

Mets 4 Padres 1
Marlin Byrd hit a two-run double in the eighth inning.  John Buck connected long distance.

Over in the American League,

Angels 8 Yankees 4
Chris Nelson hit two homers, including a grand slam in the eighth inning.  Alfonso Soriano stayed hot for the Yankees, going 4-5 with an RBI in the loss.

A’s 5 Astros 0
In only his second career start, Sonny Gray threw eight scoreless innings to pick up his first major league win.  Nate Frieman went 4-4, including a home run, and drove in four runs.

Blue Jays 2 Red Sox 1
Mark Buehrle pitched seven innings and Mark de Rosa and Brett Lawrie drove in a run apiece.

Tigers 4 Royals 1
Anibal Sanchez gave up a run in his 7 1/3 innings of work.  Prince Fielder connected long distance with a man on and Andy Dirks had four hits.

Rays 7 Mariners 1
Wil Myers went 3-4 with four RBI and Evan Longoria hit a two-run homer.

Twins 4 White Sox 3
Chris Herrmann had the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning.
