Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen finally figured out that Giancarlo Stanton needs to be hitting cleanup in the batting order, behind Jose Reyes and in front of Carlos Lee. Reyes responded yesterday with three runs batted in, and the Fish got a gutsy performance from Ricky Nolasco to beat the Brewers 7-3. Guillen announced that the team would go to a six-man rotation the remainder of the season, giving Wade LeBlanc a chance to continue starting. You also may want to warn your children and bring the pets inside the house: Guillen will go back to posting on Twitter, adding that he was “bored”. These two teams continues their four-game series this evening at 7:00 pm. Wade LeBlanc will be on the mound for the Marlins, Shaun Marcum will toe the rubber for the Brewers. Gordon Beckham hit a two-run homer and ended up with 3 RBI. With the win, the Sox are back in sole possession of first place in the Central division.

Another day, another loss for the Red Sox. The Sox have lost 7 straight and 12 out of their last 15.

Geovany Soto hit a three-run homer, one of 5 for the Rangers. Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, Adrian Beltre, and Nelson Cruz also left the building.
Angels 8 A’s 3
Chris Ianetta had three hits, including a homer, and drove in three runs. Vernon Wells and Torii Hunter also connected long distance.

College Football is back! The University of Miami Hurricanes beat Boston College 41-32. Freshman running back Duke Johnson led the comeback victory with touchdown runs of 54 and 56 yards. The Canes will be on the road again this saturday as they take on the Kansas State Wildcats. The other local team FIU got beaten in Durham, NC by Duke, 46-26. FIU outgained Duke 513 total yards to 420, but key mistakes and gaffes cost the Panthers dearly. FIU QB Jake Medlock was 27-46 for 348 yards passing with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Running back Kedrick Rhodes had 25 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown, and caught 7 passes for 105 yards and another score. The Panthers return home to face Akron this saturday at 6:00 pm. I will be handling play-by-play duties this season for FIU, (in English, no less) and Pete Pelegrin will be by my side giving us his expert analysis. The Dolphins kick off their regular season on Sunday in Houston at 1:00 pm, against the Texans, the only team in the NFL they have never beaten. Lots of new faces, new coach, new coordinators, a rookie starting quarterback, in other words, a new team. Dolphins fans are going to have to be patient, once again. It looks like it is going to be a looooooong season.
The NFL season kicks off tomorrow as the Dallas Cowboys visit the NY Giants. The game starts at 8:30 pm, and you can see it on NBC, Channel 6 here in Miami. I’ll have a lot of “stuff” here this week on the ‘Fins.

Reyes respondio ayer con tres carreras impulsadas y los Peces recibieron una gran labor de Ricky Nolasco en la lomita para vencer a los Brewers, 7-3. Guillen anuncio que el equipo usaria una rotacion de seis abridores el resto de la temporada, dandole la oportunidad a Wade LeBlanc para que continuara como abridor. Les quiero avisar a todos que acuesten a los niños y traigan a sus mascotas para adentro de la casa: Guillen va a regresar a postear comentarios en Twitter, diciendo que se sentia un poco aburrido. The Dolphins arrancan su temporada regular este domingo en Houston a la una de la tarde contra los Houston Texans, el unico equipo en la NFL al que los Dolphins nunca han podido vencer en su historia. Muchas nuevas caras, incluyendo once novatos, un nuevo coach, nuevos coordinadores, un quarterback novato, en otras palabras, un equipo nuevo. Como en años anteriores, la fanaticada de los Fins van a tener que tener mucha paciencia esta temporada. Todo luce indicar que va a ser una temporada laaaaaaarga.
