The Marlins lost two out of three to the LA Dodgers over the weekend, managing to win yesterday 6-2.  Mark Buehrle got his team-leading 12th win of the season, and the man-child, Giancarlo Stanton, connected another tape-measure dinger, his 29th of the season.  The Fish are off today and return to Marlins Park to take on the first-place Washington Nationals tomorrow and wednesday.  Ricky Nolasco takes on Stephen Strasburg tomorrow, while Jacob Turner makes his first home start for the Fins against Ross Detweiler.  Reviewing yesterday’s action in the National League,

The Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers completed a blockbuster trade this weekend.  The Red Sox completed what can be seen as a salary dump, sending first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, outfielder Carl Crawford, pitcher Josh Beckett, and infielder Nick Punto to the Dodgers for James Loney and four prospects.  

TODAY’S TRIVIA QUESTION:  On this date, in 1939, Major League Baseball made its television debut.  Where was the game played and who were the teams?  Tell you later, alligator.  

The Dolphins lost to the Atlanta Falcons Friday night, 23-6.  The offense looks inept as the wide receivers and tight ends look like they can’t even catch a cold.  The receiving corps of the Fins dropped 5 of Ryan Tannehill’s passes, including what would have been a touchdown pass to tight end Anthony Fasano.  The Fins will be scouring through the waiver wires to see who is out there, cut by other teams.  Also, don’t be surprised if they try and add a wide receiver through a trade.  The Dolphins got a second round pick plus a conditional late-round pick from the Indianapolis Colts for former first-round pick, cornerback Vontae Davis.  Davis had lost his starting job to Richard Marshall.  Davis another in the long line of draft miscues by the Dolphins over the last few years.  The Dolphins will close out their preseason schedule this wednesday, in Dallas, against the Cowboys.  The game will be broadcast locally on Channel 33 here in Miami.  The rest of this week’s preseason games in the NFL will bring us:

Las Medias Rotas de Boston y los Dodgers de Los Angeles completaron un cambio monumental este fin de semana.  Las Medias Rotas enviaron a la primer base Adrian Gonzalez, al jardinero Carl Crawford, el lanzador Josh Beckett, y el jugador de cuadro Nick Punto a los Dodgers por James Loney y cuatro prospectos.  

LA PREGUNTA DE HOY:  En un dia como hoy, en el año 1939, el beisbol de las grandes ligas hizo su debut en television.  Quienes fueron los equipos que se enfrentaron y donde fue el juego?  Te digo ahorita.

Los Miami Dolphins perdieron contra los Atlanta Falcons el viernes, 23-6.  La ofensiva sigue luciendo horrible, y los recibidores y tight ends estan que no cogen ni catarro.  El grupo de recibidores de Miami dejo caer cinco pases de Ryan Tannehill, incluyendo un posible pase de touchdown que se le cayo a Anthony Fasano.  Los Fins van a estar vigilando la lista de recibidores puesto en libertad por otros equipos esta semana, uy no se sorprendan si tratan de hacer un cambio antes que comienze la temporada regular.  Los Fins recibieron ayer una seleccion de segundo round y una seleccion condicional en el sexto round a cambio del esquinero Vontae Davis.  Davis, que fue seleccionado por Miami en el primer round del draft en el 2009, perdio su trabajo a favor de Richard Marshall.  El nombre de Davis se agrega a una larga lista de selecciones fracasadas de los Dolphins.  El equipo cierra su pretemporada este miercoles, en Dallas, cuando se enfrentan a los Dallas Cowboys.  El juego arranca a las 8:30 pm, y sera televisado por el canal 33 localmente aqui en Miami.
