Make that 27 consecutive innings without scoring a run for the Marlins.  A leadoff homer by Jimmy Rollins was all the scoring the Phillies needed last night to beat Josh Johnson and the feeble Marlins lineup 1-0.  This is just unbelieavable, so I’ll leave it at that.  Today, at 12:40, the Fish get to face Roy Halladay.  Mark Buehrle is given the responsibility of shutting out the Phils and driving in some runs if the Marlins are going to be able to get out of this rut.  After today’s game, the Fish will get out of town to go on an 11-game road trip with stops in Denver for a four-game set against the Rockies, another four game series in Phoenix vs. the Diamondbacks, and three games in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.  In other games yesterday, first in the national league,

In other baseball news, the soap opera has moved to the Boston Red Sox clubhouse.  The most underperforming team in the major leagues is now revolting against their manager, Bobby Valentine.  According to a report by Yahoo Sports journalist Jeff Passan, members of the Red Sox met with owners John Henry and Larry Lucchino to blast Valentine and some players went as far as saying they no longer wanted to play for Valentine.  What could have possibly have made the Boston ownership think that Valentine wasn’t going to revert back to his ways?  Henry and Lucchino chose to ignore that Bobby V wore out his welcome both in Texas with the Rangers and in New York with the Mets, after which he was basically exiled from the majors to Japan.  According to reports, Valentine has no relationship with some of his coaches, does not relate well to players on his team, and irritates everyone by spending most of his time behind closed doors in his office.  I don’t expect to see the Sox make a change this season, just as I don’t expect Valentine to be back in Boston in 2013.

As the Dolphins prepare for their preseason game on Friday against the Carolina Panthers, Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill are splitting time during practice with the first team, but it seems that Tannehill may get the chance to start on Friday.  On the defensive side of the ball, Cameron Wake, Kevin Burnett, and Karlos Dansby are not practicing today and may miss this week’s game.  Game time on Friday is 8pm from Charlotte, NC.

En otras noticias del beisbol, la telenovela se mudo para el clubhouse de las Medias Rotas de Boston.  El equipo que mas ha decepcionado a su fanaticada este año esta ahora en una revolucion en contra del manager Bobby Valentine.  El periodista Jeff Passan de Yahoo! Sports reporto que un gran numero de jugadores se reunieron con los dueños John Henry y Larry Lucchino para descargarle sobre Valentine y muchos de los jugadores dijeron que no querian seguir jugando para Valentine.  Que les hizo pensar a los dueños que Valentine no volveria con las mismas cosas que hizo durante su carrera como manager en las grandes ligas.  A Henry y a Lucchino se les olvido que Valentine fue botado de Texas con los Rangers y de Nueva York con los Mets y basicamente fue exiliado de las grandes ligas a Japon.  Los reportes indican que Valentine no tiene relacion con algunos de sus propios coaches, no se lleva con los jugadores del equipo, e irrita a todos, incluyendo a la prensa, encerrandose en su oficina la mayor parte del dia.  No creo que las Medias Rotas hagan algo este año, pero tampoco creo que Valentine regrese a Boston en el 2013.

Mientras que los Miami Dolphins se preparan para su juego de pretemporada del viernes contra los Carolina Panthers, Matt Moore y Ryan Tannehill estan dividiendose el tiempo practicando con el primer equipo ofensivo.  Las indicaciones son de que Tannehill va a tener la oportunidad de ser el abridor el viernes.  En el lado defensivo, Cameron Wake, Kevin Burnett, y Karlos Dansby no estan participando en las practicas de hoy, y probablemente no van a jugar esta semana.  El juego es el viernes a las 8pm desde Charlotte, NC.
